This spring, several Bear Football players will have the opportunity to train with a Tae Kwon Do black belt at the University of Iowa Field House.

Instructed by Ned Ashton, a fourth-degree black belt, players will learn Tae Kwon Do in an effort to improve their hand fighting skills.

Master Ashton is the University of Iowa's Martial Arts instructor and is the head coach of the school's national collegiate team. He has taught some of the University's best football players who have all found a lot of benefit in learning hand fighting skills.

Coach Pedersen loves the idea of having his players learn more about the best ways to use their hands and is excited for the opportunity.

This is going to be a huge benefit to our linebackers, defensive ends, defensive lineman, and cornerbacks who all have to be efficient and strong with their hands if they want to be successful.

Players will learn from Master Ashton in three one-hour sessions this spring at the University of Iowa's Field House loft.
